I came to the USA from China about eight years ago, in search of better education.  Currently, I live in Denton, Texas, and attend the University of North Texas, where I study studio art. My interest in photography officially started in 2002; since then, I have been constantly improving both technically and conceptually.

Regarding portraiture:

My goal for making a successful photograph is to signify my subject's importance through careful planning and composition. Often times, the decisive moments and spot-on timing are what makes an "A Plus" image.

Regarding landscape:

Our surroundings are affected by the smallest change. Sunlight escaping through a small crack between branches illuminates an area unexpectedly. The lack of the same sunlight changes the mood of an area entirely. How nature moves and changes is sporadic and unending.

I find joy and inspiration in these subtle moments, so others could view and appreciate them for what they are - the beauty of nature.

I hope that by seeing the world in its untouched state, or sometimes the heavily manipulated cityscape, it will encourage my viewers to remember to take care of the planet we live on.
