Building Bicycles

Diamondback Mission 3 Frame build from ground up with hammerschmidt crankset added at a later date.

A Trek 4300 Hardtail that I have teared apart every component and re-build with customized parts.

A photo Before the tear-up, all stock with v-brakes and rims.

And a photo after the rebuild:

Also recently did a small photo shoot around the office for a friend’s fixie bike.  Custom weld with pimped up wheels and Chris King headset.  Yum.

Fun Project – Reviving an old Schwinn Mesa GSX Bicycle

Working on your own bicycle is more fun than you think.  With proper tools, you can do all the repair and maintenance yourself and never have to pay a bike shop $80+ for just a small tune up.

Got this Schwinn Mesa GSX a few month ago, it’s a little beatup when I first got it, wheels are untrue, brakes stuck, crankset is messed up and all the cables are worn out, apparently previous owner didn’t take care of this gem.  With a little tune up done, this bike is actually more than capable to hit any trail or road.  Revived it and set it up just in time for the Spring commute!  Total cost is about $350.  A bike with similar groupset runs easily over $1000.
